The company’s installations are in the Industrial Area of Thessaloniki in the municipality of Ehedoros.They occupy ~40,000 sq m of privately-owned land, including 13,000 sq m of roofed areas which house the production sections, warehouses and the administration building.Based on the principle of separating the production processes from liquids and powders packaging, and in addition, separating herbicide processing from the other preparations, the individual spaces are detailed below:

Liquid production and packing building
There are two production sections for liquid products in EC and SL form located at either end of the building, since one is used for herbicide production and the other for insecticide production, etc. The production process for the liquid preparations consists in simply mixing the active ingredient with solvent and auxiliary substances. Each section has a capacity of 20,000 litres / shift. The liquid products packing room is situated in the centre of the building and is divided into the herbicide section and the other preparations section. The herbicide packing room has four packaging lines with a total packaging capability of 50 cc to 20 litres. The liquid herbicide packaging capacity is 18,000 litres / shift. The packing room for the other liquid preparations has four packaging lines with a total packaging capability of 5 cc to 20 litres. The packaging capacity is 15,000 litres / shift. Installed in a separate compartment is the dichloropropene packaging machine which has a capacity of 12,000 litres / shift. All the production and packing areas are connected to ventilation and deodorization systems to guarantee the required level of employee Health and Safety and to minimize the release of polluting waste gases into the environment. In addition, the packing area is air-conditioned. Liquid waste for disposal leaves the building and ends up at the installations’ liquid waste treatment plant.

Powder production and packaging building
The building houses the production section for insecticides-fungicides in the following forms: WP, GR and dust, the fertiliser production section, the packing room for powdered herbicides and the packaging section for the other powder preparations. The different sections are distinctly separated from each other. The production of insecticides- fungicides in powder form consists in mixing active ingredient with aggregate and auxiliary substances and, when required, the further pulverisation thereof, (preparations in WP form). Production capacity is from 3 to 6 tonnes per shift, depending on the form of the preparation. The production and packing of fertilisers consists in mixing basic elements (Ν, P, K) with the addition of trace elements and packing them in 25 kilo valve bags. Production capacity is 7 tonnes per shift. The herbicide packaging section has two packaging lines with a packaging capability of 50 g to 5 kilos. Packaging capacity is 5 tonnes per shift. The packaging section for the other powder preparations has 4 packaging lines with a packaging capability of 10 g to 10 kilos. Packaging capacity is 11 tonnes per shift. All the production and packing areas are connected to ventilation and deodorization systems to guarantee the required level of employee Health and Safety and to minimize the release of polluting waste gases into the environment. In addition, the packing area is air-conditioned. Liquid waste for disposal leaves the building and ends up first in a storage tank and subsequently at the installations’ liquid waste treatment plant.

Warehouse facilities
In a limited space, in the centre of the plot, there are three solvent storage tanks, of total capacity 90 m3, and three dichloropropene storage tanks, of total capacity 90 m3. The space is served by a spillage collection tank capable of holding 110% of the tanks’ volume. Adjacent to the liquids production building is the covered warehouse for packaging materials and next to it the storage shed for flammable and toxic raw materials capable of containing and collecting spillages. Adjacent to the powder production building is the ready products warehouse of storage capacity 1,200 pallets, which is capable of containing and collecting spillages and firefighting water.
