K&N EFTHYMIADIS Single Member S.A. was founded in 1935 and is the largest company in the Efthymiadis Group of Companies, which since 2003 is named “REDESTOS” - Efthymiadis Agrotechnology Group. The Group includes 10 subsidiaries in Greece and the Balkans, fully dedicated in the Production, Research & Development and Services for Agriculture.

In the sector of Agricultural Inputs, K&N EFTHYMIADIS Single Member S.A. holds a leading position in Greece. The company, which is the largest in Redestos Group, is based in the Industrial Area of Thessaloniki and specializes in the development, production and distribution of plant protection products and specialized fertilizers.

The company cooperates with a number of leading multinational companies including Nufarm, Bayer CropScience, Nippon Soda, Nihon Nohyaku, ISK, BASF, Mitsui Chemicals, Chemtura, Agrokanesho, Petronas, Nordox etc. for the distribution of their products.

Also, the company’s emphasis on quality assurance at all stages of production has led a number of multinational enterprises such as Corteva and BASF, as well as several local companies, to select it’s modern facilities in the Thessaloniki Industrial Zone for the formulation and packaging of their own specialty products.

Furtheremore, since 2010, K&N EFTHYMIADIS Single Member S.A. represents and distributes selected Planting Seed Propagation Material for a number of cultivations from important international companies such as Bayer CropScience, Prime Genetics, RAGT, Barenbrug, Stet Holland, Den Hartigh, Solana, Continental Semences, Produttori Sementi Bologna, Apsov Sementi, Probstdorfer, Lidea etc.

For over two decades, K&N EFTHYMIADIS Single Member S.A. has had significant export activities in the Balkans through independent subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia, staffed both by Greek and local personnel and which developed into important, modern distribution networks for a comprehensive range of agricultural supplies and services and also through representatives in Cyprus, Kosovo and Moldavia.

As a result of this successful activities, in August 2016 a joint venture was signed between K&N EFTHYMIADIS Single Member S.A. and Certis Europe, a Mitsui & Co subsidiary, creating a new company - KNE CERTIS - which will serve to bring the experience, expertise and resources of both companies to the development, registration, marketing and distribution of crop protection products in South Eastern Europe. The new joint venture established for this purpose, with 70% shareholder K&N Efthymiadis and 30% Certis Europe, was named KNE CERTIS and is based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The strategy behind this move is clear for both sides. Mitsui, in recent years continuously investing in agricultural supply distribution companies in Europe as well as in acquisitions of plant protection products, is gradually building a pan-European distribution network for products both owned and by third parties, usually Japanese companies. On the other hand, the Company gains access and the possibility of development in all the countries of South-Eastern Europe, vertically increasing its extroversion and development perspective, while at the same time maintaining administrative control in Greece.
